CCIM Cherokee Breakfast - KC Conway

Come hear KC Conway, Chief Economist for CCIM, speak on Thursday, October 18 at 8:00 am at Cherokee Country Club. (Networking from 8:00 - 8:30 am; KC Conway speaks 8:30-9:30 am.) Conway is the director of research and corporate engagement at the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE) housed within the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Commerce. With more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, Conway is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on a wide range of topics ranging from appraisal and bank regulation to ports and securitization. His areas of specialty include housing, industrial, litigation support, industrial and office real estate, North American ports, and land development. KAAR Commercial Day

Do you know a fellow residential agent looking to learn more about selling or buying commercial real estate? KAAR is hosting Commercial Day on Wednesday, October 24 with the first half of the day geared toward residential agents. Instructor Ed Riggins, SIOR, CCIM will be teaching "Commercial Opportunities for Residential Agents" (3 CE), followed by a free lunch with a panel of area commercial real estate experts in office, retail, industrial, and property management. After lunch, join Ed for a second class, "Living with Lumpy Cashflow" (3 CE). Members from Area Commercial Organizations will also be on site, such as IREM, BOMA, and CCIM. TREC Commercial CORE

This class is mandated by the state and satisfies the Tennessee Real Estate Commission's (TREC) requirement for its members’ two-year licensing renewal period. Updated every two years, the TREC Core class is designed to keep licensees informed and up to speed on all TREC laws, rules, and policies. The 2017-2018 TREC Commercial Core Course includes but is not limited to the following topics that will help you: - Recognize common violations of TN license law and/or TREC rules - Identify items a TREC audit could uncover or qualify as violations or deficiencies in commercial practice - Recognize what E&O insurance does and doesn’t cover - Resolve situations, legally and ethically, when an agent discovers he or she is involved in a conflict of interest - Identify violations of Tennessee’s agency law and what to do to avoid them - Identify common violations of advertising rules and how to avoid committing those violations - Recognize common problems and issues with commercial contracts and how to avoid or resolve them successfully - Correctly identify issues that arise in the practice of commercial property management
